What it is

Personality & rules on Profile (https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/home) is how you shape how the AI Twin sounds, what fixed replies it must give, whether it answers product questions about AI Twins, and whether it asks visitors questions after they engage.

It is separate from example questions (0–3 chips on the public page that visitors click to ask you). Visitor questions are your agenda: what you want to learn from them.

What it’s for

• Sound like you (voice, length, behavior prompt) without changing the facts in Knowledge
• Pin exact replies for topics such as pricing or booking (business rules)
• Optionally greet idle visitors and weave one follow-up question after an answer
• Control whether the Twin may briefly explain what an AI Twin is and where to get one

How to use it

1. Open Profile (https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/home) → Personality & rules.
2. Set voice and style (perspective, length, interaction style, follow-up encouragement).
3. Add a behavior prompt if you want free-text guidance (for example: speak in first person; stay warm and concrete).
4. Add business rules when you need a fixed reply: “When asked about… → Then respond with…”. High priority rules run before retrieval and return your text as-is. They do not weave a visitor question on that turn.
5. Optional: Questions to ask visitors:

- Turn Enable visitor questions on - Write an opening line (greeting plus first question). After a short idle (4–20 seconds) on an empty Welcome screen, the AI Twin speaks first once per browser session. Typing, clicking an example chip, or leaving Welcome cancels the idle opening - Add up to six follow-up asks. Leave “When they mention” empty to use the next unanswered item, or add comma-separated triggers (for example pricing, cost) so that topic pulls that question first - After a normal answer, the Twin appends one unasked owner question. It does not invent questions from Knowledge

1. Answer questions about AI Twins: on free and trial plans this stays on. Base or Pro can turn it off so the Twin stays silent on product FAQ. When you are signed in as the owner asking your own AI Twin for console help, owner-help links still work even if visitor-facing product FAQ is off.
2. Use Preview as visitor on the same accordion (including unsaved drafts), then Save and open https://hi.speak-to.ai/your-name in a private window to confirm opening and weave.

Tips / pitfalls

• High-priority business rules win over weaving: if the visitor hit a fixed reply, you will not get a follow-up ask on that turn.
• Example question chips are not the same as Questions to ask visitors, chips start their questions; visitor prompts are yours.
• Opening lines are your words as-is (no retrieval for that bubble).
• Keep asks short and factual; do not put secret prices or invented claims into a question.
• Recent versions on the accordion can restore an earlier Personality & rules snapshot after a bad edit.
